This creamy, delicious pumpkin pie smoothie tastes just like your favorite fall treat. Made with healthy ingredients and without banana, this high protein smoothie makes a great breakfast, snack or for when you're craving a slice of pumpkin pie.

This is one of those recipes that tastes so much like dessert, it's hard to believe that it's packed with wholesome ingredients that are actually good for you.

This unique smoothie is made with real pumpkin puree, greek yogurt for creaminess and my secret smoothie weapon, frozen cauliflower! I think that bananas overpower most smoothies so I use cauliflower to make it cold and sweeten with honey or maple syrup. I also add almond based protein powder a little bit of oats to add just little bit of pie crust vibe. It tastes like drinking a slice of pumpkin pie.

Trust me, you will be making this all pumpkin season long!

This post is brought to you in partnership with my friends at Bob’s Red Mill. I used their Gluten Free Almond Protein Powder and their Organic Old Fashioned Rolled Oats in this recipe and I absolutely love Bob’s products! Ingredient Notes

Recipe ingredients on a placemat with a bag of protein powder on a green napkin.

All you need is a handful of healthy ingredients to make this protein packed smoothie! It's the perfect recipe to use up any leftover pumpkin puree you have from your fall baking.

  • Pumpkin puree - use real pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Protein Powder - you can also use almond butter.
  • Bob's Red Mill Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • Greek yogurt - adds creaminess. You can also substitute in plain non-dairy yogurt.
  • Milk - I prefer to use almond milk in my smoothies. You can use any plant based or dairy milk of your choice.
  • Frozen cauliflower - makes the smoothie cold and adds a nutritional boost. If you don't have cauliflower, you can throw in a few ice cubes to make it cold or use frozen pumpkin puree.
  • Honey - for sweetness. You can also use maple syrup, a few dates or any sweetener of your choice.
  • Vanilla extract - a must for flavor in any dessert! If you don't have any on hand you can omit or use vanilla milk or yogurt.
  • Pumpkin spice - the warm spices make it taste just like pumpkin pie! If you don't have this blend it on hand, you can make homemade pumpkin spice!
  • Salt - a tiny pinch of salt brings out all of the flavors.

Step by step instructions

This smoothie takes just a few minutes to whip up and the recipe is flexible. Feel free to adjust the ingredients according to taste.

Recipe Tips

  • Use cold ingredients. Use cold yogurt, milk and pumpkin puree along with the frozen cauliflower.
  • The amount of milk is flexible. Use more or less to reach desired consistency. This recipe also makes a great smoothie bowl. Top with sliced banana, pecans and crumbled graham crackers for a delicious treat!
  • Sweeteners can be adjusted to taste. Add a little bit, taste and adjust as needed.
